Thank you Patrick for mpv.

When fulalas mentioned it a few days ago, I built it via the SBo and I like it.

___

Uh oh... this build of it does not like my system.

Clicked its item in the xfce applications menu,

Screen went totally blank and had to Ctrl_Alt_Backspace to kill X

That was the i9 machine.

Now tried it on the i7.... same thing.

___

OK, it's not just _this_ build.

I had not tried it that way with the SBo build but rather simply via the cli with

mpv filename.mp4

Just now tried it and the SBo build does the same when clicking it in the xfce applications menu.

mpv-0.38.0 is a nice surprise. I was considering adding this for rssgaurd. Now I don't have too.

Looks like that the KDE Applications 24.05.0 (and not only) uses the Javascript API of MPV for handling it.

Well, that's probably obvious because the Qt's QML is in fact some kind of Javascript dialect.

So, my request for current is to add MuJS and to rebuild the MPV against it.

https://slackbuilds.org/repository/15.0/libraries/mujs/

In the end, this should be nothing outrageous, because this way was built and used this MPV by us since loooong time. And it's a quite small package.

The second request I have is to add the package for PlasmaTube 23.08.5, which now we can build well, considering that the MPV was added to -current.

https://download.kde.org/Attic/stabl...23.08.5.tar.xz
https://download.kde.org/Attic/stabl...8.5.tar.xz.sig

It's something like the YouTube app, but in the Plasma5 (or Plasma6) style.

I know, I know, it also needs an video downloader like yt-dlp, BUT I believe that this could be leaved at the user exercise.

And hey! The PlasmaTube can be used well for more than honorable purposes like watching videos on a PeerTube server. Well, on the 24.05.0 version.
