/dev/mapper/cs-root utilizing 100% storage
 

Hello All,

I am running CentOS 8 OS in an ESXi 6.7 VM environment for Syslog. I'm utilizing the Syslog-ng OSE tool-set. I have configured the syslog-ng tool to redirect the logs to my /home/ drive partition as it contains more storage. My issue is that my disk /dev/mapper/cs-root is reaching 100% utilization and I'm having difficulty tracking down what is causing that.

I've ran df -h and it shows the following:

My partitions are split as follows:

Disk /dev/mapper/cs-root: 70 GiB, 75161927680 bytes, 146800640 sectors

I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes


Disk /dev/mapper/cs-swap: 7.9 GiB, 8476688384 bytes, 16556032 sectors

When I navigate to each folder found on / and run the du -sh command I get the following total:

/ = 70 GB Total Storage

159G = /home/ --> made into its own partition of 4.1TB
1.3G = /lib/
1.1G = /lib64/
0 = /media/
0 = /mnt/
1.5G = /opt/
0 = /proc/

0 = /srv/
0 = /sys/
36K = /tmp/
4.8G = /usr/
2.7G = ./var/

/ = 10G utilized
home = 159G utilized

total 169G

What am I missing?

SOLVED: It looked like a made changes a while back and never rebooted which cleared out some of my cached. Simple reboot freed up my space.
