[DSL]4.4.10 embedded - strange USB issue
Greetings,
I've read all the threads about this already, but they don't really apply to my problem - my USB mouse and keyboard don't work in DSL (if I boot from CD), but when I boot from a USB pendrive, it doesn't find the KNOPPIX image.
What I don't get is this: The USB keyboard works in the BIOS, and the system boots from USB - I see the prompt where I can entercheatcodes, and I can even enter cheatcodes, view the F2/F3 pages and so on.
But once it boots and looks for USB devices, the NUMLOCK light on my keyboard turns on, the error "Cannot find KNOPPIX image" occurs and I get dropped to a shell with only five commands. Now, my keyboard doesn't work anymore, and I cannot even change the NUMLOCK status.
The DSL stick actually is my "work" stick, I always have it with me and use it as a replacement for Clouds, since I don't need an internet connection - also, it has come in quite handy when rescuing a broken system (or at least the data on it).
The stick was set up using the Universal USB Installer from pendrivelinux.com - as suggested in the DSL wiki. It is confirmed to work on another box.
The computer is a HP Elite 7300 MT, only HW I added is a NVidia GeForce 560TI and a better PSU. Also, I have another Linux Distro (Debian) installed to hard disk, and it works fine - I can use the USB keyboard/mouse, I can access the stick. So USB itself works.
I also read about the "USB legacy" setting. I tried finding it in my BIOS, and I even consulted the manual to my computer, but there is no such thing. Also, if the Keyboard works at boot time and at the DSL boot prompt, can that be the issue?
I don't get what's wrong here. USB works fine in BIOS, during the boot process and in both Debian and Windy OS on my HDD, but not in DSL.
It'd be great if somebody could help me with that, because frankly, I am out of answers.
