So Biden 'willfully' commits a federal crime but gets away with things for which other people are in jail. What a messed up world we live in.

I'd very much like to avoid the kind of rampant, and rather blind polarized Party Politics we see so much of recently so I'm going to attempt to take the Country First perspective. It isn't clear to me that the investigation of Biden is over but I hope not. NOBODY can be allowed to be above the Law.

That said, if we are confining this thread to Classified Document Crimes (you can let me know if not, mjolnir) then I think it behooves us to realize the current cases of Trump and Biden are pretty far from equivalent. Firstly Biden's home is not a public place while Mar Lago is. AFAIK immediately at request, Biden apologized and complied, returning the documents. Trump lied about even having them and plotted (as seen in phone calls and transcription) to not turn them over, had discussed them with others with zero security clearance, and handed over one or some to someone not even a government official or even a US citizen.

I sincerely hope both of them and really anyone convicted of actual security crimes is investigated, tried, and if found guilty, incarcerated. We seriously need to get as close as possible something even remotely resembling a level playing field. I'm thinking of the horrible and continuing treatment of Snowden here. The Intelligence Community, or some of it, broke Laws, and while technically Snowden did too and as the old saying goes "Two wrongs can't make a Right" yet if we calculate national harm, I think it's quite clear who caused harm and who actually served The People.

Well again, I'm not excusing either of them but there is a difference in my mind between Biden's ghost writer, whom I have to assume is someone he trusts with his own life and reputation, and that is quite different from a non citizen with zero clearance and although I'm extrapolating, I doubt Trump trusts with his life and reputation. Frankly, neither of their personal assessments of trust should have much bearing since it's not what they imagine but what the Law states.

Maybe I'm just getting old and paranoid but now in the beginning era of "The Surveillance State" all around the world, it surely seems it has been an accelerating trajectory of deep control by the wealthy elite ever since JFK's murder and both parties share blame. It seems they think our founding documents beginning with ""We, the People" are either a bad joke or a ruse for the rubes.

When Biden stockpiled those materials – quite illegally – as Senator and then Vice-President – he was apparently of perfectly sound mind.

He knew precisely what he was doing, and he also knew that it was against the law for him to do so. But he also knew that "The Godfather" was quite above the law.

Biden may have some cognitive decline, but, he's a rock star compared to his opponent. Trump is in steep cognitive decline and allegedly a criminal who has a good chance of being convicted on at least one of his 91 indictments. Trump just now admitted that Jan. 6th was an insurrection, but, that Nancy Pelosi led the attack on the capital.

FYI VP Mike Pence who also had classified material at his home residence was not charged.
