Linux+ or LPIC-1/2/3 certification, which is better?

Hi everyone,

I'm debating whether to take the Linux+ cert or the LPIC certs. I see that comptia now offers a separate exam which is completely independent of the LPIC exam. I also saw that they only offer 1 Linux+ exam now, instead of 2. The LPIC offers 2 exams each for each LPIC level (1/2/3) for a total of 6 exams. While the Linux+ exam seems much easier on the wallet, I'm wondering if the LPIC exam goes more deeper in to topics vs Linux+? Has anyone taken either (or both) and can give a comparison and recommendation? I am currently a junior linux admin that works mostly with redhat/centos/suse/aix, and would like to learn how to learn practical job usage of linux while trying to receive a certification for it.

Many thanks in advance for any help!

It depends much on your end goal and your company's preferences. My agency (Rüedi Technik AG) set a challenge to recieve Linux+ and LPIC-1 certificates.
