Keyboard doesn't work - changes to English keyboard after every few minutes
Hi.
So, I work as a Serbian tutor, my students are mostly native German speakers, and I'm also learning Spanish and Greek. So I need following keyboards to work: Serbian Latin, Serbian Cyrillic, German, Spanish, Greek. I have absolutely no use of English keyboard. Though, in the middle of my lessons, my keyboard keeps changing back to English every few minutes (sometimes even every few seconds). English keyboard is default, and I had it on my list, so I thought the problem would be solved if I just removed it from the list of keyboard layouts. Alas, even after I removed it, it still changes back to English. How do I fix this? Important note: I am no programmer. I do not work in IT. I-m just a user. Please consider that while answering me. |
Have you checked the keyboard shortcuts to ensure that the hotkeys to switch layouts are not getting triggered accidentally? If they are set to something you hit during the normal course of work, then that will be a problem. So be sure they are set to some uncommon combination.
Which Desktop Environment and/or Window Manager to you have? |

I-m pretty bad in IT terminology. How do I find out which Window Manager I have? |
I would really like to have some help with this, since I'm struggling for ages.
Please, notice: I'm just a Linux user. I'm no IT expert, and I do not want to be. Please just explain it to me as tech support would do to a common user, not someone who speaks IT language. So, how do I remove American English from my keyboard? I think that might solve the problem. I do not need English keyboard, because I already have all the letters used in English in my other keyboards. As you can see in this screen shot https://ibb.co/dP3RXzc , it seems that I can only remove keyboards I actually need, but not the only one which is completely useless (i.e. American English). https://ibb.co/dP3RXzc |
I think deepin has its own desktop called DTK. And I suspect you can't remove American English because that is the worldwide default for computer output.
