Screen stuck with a flat dash on top left corner after selecting to boot LinuxMint from USB

Hi everyone,

Fairly new here. I bought a Dell G15 5530 a month back. I want to dual boot LinuxMint-21.2 along with Windows 11 Pro. I created a bootable usb drive using rufus-4.3. Then I chose 'Start Linux Mint 21.2 Cinnamon 64-bit' (top one) from the grub. After selecting this, my screen is stuck with a flat dash (not blinking) at the top left corner and no laptop key works. I had forcefully shut it down.

Kindly help.

Specs of Dell G15 5530
  • Windows 11 pro
  • 13th Gen Intel i7-13650HX
  • 512GB M.2 PCle NVMe SSD
  • 16GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM
  • NVIDIA(R) GeForce RTX(TM) 3050, 6GB GDDR6
  • BIOS - UEFI
  • SATA/NVMe Operation - RAID On (not AHCI/NVMe or disabled)

Note: [LIST][*]I tried installing LinuxMint twice; with secure boot on and off separately. But the screen got stuck in both cases.[*]I have already installed MX Linux-23.1 on my 10-year-old HP Pavillion 15 laptop following the following video and it is working fine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRQwnkP2KUE&t=2337s[LIST]

Hello Maverick,

Did you get your problem solved? Can you list the options that you selected in Rufus?

Thanks

Try (hit e) some bootparams to get to recovery/single-user mode: nomodeset init=/bin/bash

Here's more (Goo found):
1 Remove the "quiet" parameter from the "linux" line
2 Add "verbose" parameter to the "linux" line
3 Add "debug" parameter to the "linux" line
4 Add "ignore_loglevel" to the linux load line
5 Add "systemd.journald.forward_to_console=1 console=tty1" to the "linux" load line in GRUB.
6 Add "oops=panic" to the "linux" load line in GRUB.

Some prefer Ventoy (USB creator)
