non-anonymous reputation and helpful-rating

To avoid that chatbot-accounts get positive ratings on random posts, it could help if the account which rates a post is visible in the public profile.

I notice such unexplainable ratings on an account that I consider dubious and that stopped its daily posting routine on 1st of April.

Maybe a legitimate member mis-clicked?

What annoys me is that you get political threads where reputation points are given that mean little more than "I agree!". It wouldn't be a problem if all such threads were confined to General, where there is no reputation button to push, but they are often found in other forums too, especially Slackware.

There is no "this post was helpful button", but the "scales" icon thing to the left of the post is, in fact, a reputation button.

I think that's quite a different thing psychologically. Using the scales button encourages deliberate thought, especially if you want to add a comment. The button on the right is just too easy to click on without thinking.

I just want them attributed to an account that I can find elsewhere and a user that I can ask: “What's so cool about someone saying Thank You?”.
Otherwise this is becoming a big messy pudding, not exchange of knowledge nor opinion.
