Keyboard mapping error solved
 
Finished the install of desktop14.1-32bit on an older LG laptop. After boot, the keyboard mapping has the Fn+number keys active. Same problem on another older Sony Vaio install.

Solution: Fn+Ctrl+Num held simultaneously disables the Fn lock and restores normal function of the keys.

Take a look in /etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf and set numlock=0.
