Slackware 14.2 has been released

Hi,

Most of you will probably have heard the news already. In case you missed it:

http://www.slackware.com

So what does this mean for MLED and MLES?

Microlinux being located in South France, most of my clients go to hibernation (sort of) in July and August, which means reduced workload (and pay, ugh). On the plus side, I have more time on my hands.

This being said, and as some of you know, I'm preparing a book about the basics of Linux system administration, which will be entirely based on Slackware 14.2. The book was initially due to come out in early September, but given the exceptionally long development period, the delay will have its repercussions on the book. Nevertheless, I've promised my editor to do the best I can.

As it is, during July and August I'll try to divide up my time between writing "Débuter avec Linux" for my editor Eyrolles... and developing MLED 14.2 and MLES 14.2. I'll make a fresh start, because I want things to be as clean as the underlying upstream, so to speak.

I already downloaded the ISOS, burnt a set of CDs and DVDs, moved the ISO files to /var/lib/libvirt/images, set up a couple of bare metal installations... hear my knuckles crack.

Cheers from the sunny South of France,

Niki

Hi Kikinovak,

Glad to hear. But when I went to Slackware site there is no available 32b iso. I also need 32b for my old machines.
Where do you think can we download?

Thanks ahead.
