Can i get Python 3.x on 15.0 beta

Hi there, firstly this OS Rocks. I have hit a few snags, like adding the extra modules totally borks Xorg, but after learning how to "re-package" addons, and about 10 re-installs later, all is good. Now i want to use Pithos. The issue is, it requires Python 3.x as of the latest version. Can i just go and download python, or do the Dev's need to "prepackage" an addon first?

Unfortunately, there is no ready-made Python 3 package for 4MLinux.

Everybody can prepare unofficial packages for 4MLinux and share (links to) them here.

Helping...

Ok im back... good holidays and all. firstly i would like to ask if 4M has a fully implemented chroot setup?

I ask because it seems that after building (Python3) from source to make an addon i would need to chroot (to make an addon) rather than just installing python. i would like to help you make addons, because i believe in this OS and see it's huge amount of potential.

if 4m does not support chroot, or doesn't have it setup, i would like an alternative (jails?), unless im missing something.

4MLinux has its own development packages. You can find them on the installation CD. Execute install.sh in your terminal to install them.

Let's take Python2 as a example:
Code:
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-shared --with-threads
make
mkdir /newpython
make install DESTDIR=/newpython
zk /newpython
The above will produce a new addon (4MLinux package) in the /newpython directory.
