This thread is for tracking the development of the 4MLinux 27 series.
4MLinux 27.0 Core BETA released.
This is a core system (only about 10 MB in size) for the 4MLinux 27 series. The system includes: the Linux kernel 4.14.64, GNU C Library 2.27, and BusyBox 1.28.4. The 4MLinux 27 series uses GNU Compiler Collection 8.1.0 to compile programs designed for the i686 architecture.
Despite its extremely small size, 4MLinux Core supports all possible boot options: BIOS with 32-bit CPU, BIOS with 64-bit CPU, UEFI with 32-bit firmware, and UEFI with 64-bit firmware.
4MLinux 27.0 BETA is ready for testing. Basically, at this stage of development, 4MLinux BETA has the same features as 4MLinux STABLE, but it provides a huge number of updated packages.
Road map:
September 2018 -> BETA
December 2018 -> STABLE
March 2019 -> OLD STABLE
June 2019 -> EOL
Antivirus Live CD is an official 4MLinux fork including the ClamAV scanner. It's designed for users who need a lightweight live CD, which will help them to protect their computers against viruses. The latest version 27.0-0.100.2 is based on 4MLinux 27.0 BETA and ClamAV 0.100.2.
BakAndImgCD is an official 4MLinux fork, which has been designed to perform the following two tasks: data backup and disk imaging. The 4MLinux Backup Scripts make use of FSArchiver, GNU ddrescue, Partclone, Partimage, rsync, and other utilities. The output files (archives and images) can be optionally compressed and sent to a remote sever (using Ethernet, WiFi, PPP or PPPoE). This release is based on the 4MLinux Backup Scripts 27.0.
This is a major release based on the 4MLinux Server 27.0, meaning that the components of the LAMP server are now: Linux 4.14.80, Apache 2.4.37, MariaDB 10.3.10, and PHP (both 5.6.38 and 7.2.12).
You can update your TheSSS by executing the "zk update" command (fully automatic process).
The status of the 4MLinux 27.0 series has been changed to STABLE. Edit your documents with LibreOffice 6.1.3.2 and GNOME Office (AbiWord 3.0.2, GIMP 2.10.8, Gnumeric 1.12.43), share your files using DropBox 61.4.95, surf the Internet with Firefox 63.0.3 and Chromium 70.0.3538.67, stay in touch with your friends via Thunderbird 60.3.2 and Skype for Web, enjoy your music collection with Audacious 3.10, watch your favorite videos with VLC 3.0.4 and mpv 0.28.2, play games powered by Mesa 18.1.4 and Wine 3.20. You can also setup the 4MLinux LAMP Server (Linux 4.14.80, Apache 2.4.37, MariaDB 10.3.10, PHP 5.6.38 and PHP 7.2.12). Perl 5.26.2, Python 2.7.15, and Python 3.6.5 are also available.
As always, the new major release has some new features: optional support for AV1 video coding (encoding via FFmpeg and decoding via VLC and mpv), an option to disable PulseAudio with one click (important for those who use 4MLinux to play classic video games such as DOOM), better support for display drivers when 4MLinux is running in KVM (important for those who use a VNC client to manage 4MServer). LazPaint (small yet powerfull raster image editor with layers) and Blender (professional 3D computer graphics software) have been added as downloadable extensions. Additionally, some good news for gamers: more engines available for XBoard (GNU Chess, GNU Shogi, Fairy-Max) as well as more video games to play (Duke3D, Liero, Strifle). A few small terminal-based games have been added, too.

Hey Zbigniew. I'm currently seeding the '4MLinux-27.0-32bit.iso' file via https://linuxtracker.org/index.php?p...ory=0&active=1. Would you consider putting a torrent link on your website? I got and verified the checksums from SourceForcge via your download links.

Hi Zbigniew. Smooth update as usual. Is it possible to have Firefox in 4MLinux? Could you have it installed by default or give a link to download? Or am I best just to download it from the Mozilla website?
