can't update

Code:
 sudo pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
 core is up to date
 extra is up to date
 community is up to date
 multilib is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
looking for conflicting packages...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: installing xorgproto (2019.2-2) breaks dependency 'dmxproto' required by libdmx
:: installing xorgproto (2019.2-2) breaks dependency 'xf86dgaproto' required by libxxf86dga
Any ideas why it's doing this? And how to fix it?

Look here.

You could have found that out by yourself. I just DDG'd "xorgproto dmxproto" and there it was at the top of the list.

This kind of glitch is common on bleeding edge distros like Arch.

^ cutting edge, not bleeding.
Also helper scripts exist that ask you to acknowledge unread news.

To the OP.
Read the arch news every now and then.
https://www.archlinux.org/news/

Also read the bug reports
https://bugs.archlinux.org/

You might want to see what the current issues are with "your" hardware before you blindly update. Save you some trouble.
