PCLinuxOS kernel troubles

I am not sure if many are reading this blog, however I still feel that if these posts would help anyone, then they are worthwhile.
I have been struggling for several weeks now with installing newest kernels on my PCLinuxOS install and not having my wireless network available. 4 separate installs of the newest kernel made available in updates gave me this result.
This morning, having done a search: 'PCLinuxOS forums', a link was shown to the PCLinuxOS monthly magazine.

A bit of info about shell history

Recently I had done an online search and managed to use the info gathered to set up and configure iptables.
However, after finishing that, I discovered that there was also an ip6tables that also needed set up and configured. The question I asked myself was "Am I gonna have to do another internet search for ip6tables, too?"
I spent some time thinking about this, trying to think of how I could find a command list to set up ip6tables. I actually came up with an idea to try...

Syntax is important!

This is a story that should help us all see how important syntax is in linux commands. I had recently installed PCLinuxOS2020, and I wanted to set up some aliases in this new install. It had been awhile since I had last done this, so I did a search to get info on how to make these aliases permanent. Not hard to find and got the info I needed to do that.
Per instructions, I created a .bash_aliases file wherein I put my aliases.

Tailoring Icons

My hope is that these entries can be used by others to learn SOME of the ins and outs of tailoring linux to one's own 'flavor'. I decided this morning to install stellarium to my bodhi linux system (5.0 64bit). I had to learn how to work with an appimage file (had seen them before but never thought about using them until discovering that stellarium is an appimage file).
A net search revealed that Appimage files are the closest equivalent to a windows executable file (.exe) due to the ability...
