Damn Small Linux and Firefox

Hi I've now managed to install DSL in my old Dell P133ST with 4.2 gig disc running WIN98SE and DSL. DSL loads and runs fine so I'm now a convert. I have two questions. I can load broadband via Dillo but when I try Firefox the disc rattle away for ever and nothing ever loads. Dillo is very quick and I can run Maxthon fine via Win 98SE. Therefore question one is I only have 40 meg of ram is this insufficient to run the Bon Echo version of Firefox supplied with DSL 4.4.10.
Second question can anyone recommend an antivirus program or firewall to run with DSL.

Not sure about the Bon Echo (you could test this in a VM environment) but if you really think you need an AV, Clam is probably the way to go.

Bon Echo only uses about 10 to 30 MB of ram so it SHOULD be enough ram for it to work. I really don't know....

It takes about half a minute to load firefox on my 1 GHZ CPU, 512 MB Laptop.

An antivirus would be pointless in my view. The odds of getting a virus on linux are slim to none.

However IF you are feeling Paranoid then just use Clamav.
