Getting Flash player to work with DSL's Firefox

I'm having trouble getting Adobe's Flash player to work with the "Bon Echo" version of Firefox that is included with DSL.

I download the libflashplayer.so plugin from Adobe, and save it in my /home/dsl/mozilla/plugins folder. But when I open a web site that uses flash it causes Firefox to crash.

Anybody know what I need to do? Are there other dependencies I need to install?

I've tried every version of Firefox that's included in the myDSL repository, but I need at least Firefox 2.0 to use another add-in that I really need to keep (Glubble, FYI).

If anybody knows how to get the Flash player working properly, please let me know! Thanks!

Thanks for the very useful tip/trick!

Looks like I'm missing libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 and libgobject-2.0.so.0.

I'll let y'all know what happens when I track those two down and copy them over to my /usr/lib/ directory.

So, I tried installing the GTK2 myDSL extension. Still getting problems with the plugin with Firefox. I'll keep hunting for dependencies.

However, I've had SOME success with the standalone flashplayer, also available at Adobe's website. It runs for a while, as long as I have GTK2 installed, but then it crashes.

Anybody else have any more luck getting the flashplayer to run in DSL?
