Alright. I'm moving this to here from my topic I opened in General.
DSL's ISO is ready extracted on my laptop's /dev/sda3
Grub is sat ready on /dev/sda1
Grub currently boots the Crunchbang installer only, which is on /dev/sda2
What I want to do, is give Grub (0.97, btw) an entry that will boot up the DSL on /dev/sda3, so I can install it to the last partition, /dev/sda4 (/dev/sda2 will become Swap space once I've got it installed).
And after that, since I understand installing it that way turns it into a Debian install (Of woody, I think), is bring it up to Squeeze. If that's possible, if not then Lenny with Squeeze repositories enabled.
That second should probably be in Debian section instead, but it's from DSL, so I'm leaving it here. I think that makes sense.
go with Debian minimal install with lite desktop like fluxbox, e17, openbox, etc
you wanna work on script together that will autobuild/install from net?
using either netbootcd or reg deb net-install
also ubuntu too
with minmal console net install you control whats what
I got scripts that will make a ubuntu (installable) or debian live(maually installable)
custom iso from a small ubuntu-remix-iso or debian live lxde iso
I making script today that will download and install minimal deb
I appreciate the thought, but I've got part way there now I've got PXE working on the laptop. I just have one last issue to solve (See this thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...rouble-777262/) and that's it all sorted.
As I've said to you in other places though - an Internet install is not a viable method for me, and with no CD drive on the laptop, CD methods would only work if they could be launched through GRUB.
