trouble installing Dragora on Dell inspiration laptop

I am trying to move away from windows. Installed Dragora with lots of hitches I managed to fix until I booted from hard drive. on boot from hard drive I got a blank screen for over an hour. On my next look at the screen the next morning I have these 4 lines over and over.
ssb0:0 Missing Free firmware
"b43-phy0 ERROR:firmware file"/*(DEBLOBBED)*/"request failed (err=-22)

"b43-phy0 ERROR:firmware file"b43-open/ucode15.fw" not found

"b43-phy0 ERROR:/*(DEBLOBBED)*/
there is a curser flashing and I am able to type but unable to start a new line. I typed setup signed in and recieved
" No mail.
root@rafaela:~# " Am I in line edit mode? wha;t went wrong? how do I get the graphical interface? how do I install the missing files? Should I run screaming for the hills?

If you see the above prompt you are logged in as root user with no gui. You could try typing startx at the prompt. Did you create a regular user? Try logging in as a normal user. Did you verify the download of Dragora prior to putting it on the CD/DVD/flash drive?

I have requested this be moved to Dragora to get better coverage.

Doco could be better I would suggest at first glance - b43 is looking for the firmware for a Broadcom wifi chip.

Yancek Thank you, startx got the gui up. I verified the iso that I downloaded as I wrote it to disk. When I followed install directions, it did not tell me I needed to create regular user, so I figured i would create it when I booted from hdd and had the gui.
I Will be doing that now that I know the install was not a disaster. I can now search for a operating manual and have some fun figuring things out and maybe learn some coding and such.

syg00 Thank you for the info. If the wifi needs firmware now I can go looking for it and hopefully figure out how to put it all together. Now that I know about the Dragora forum, I will post anything else there. What is Doco? My linguistics in computer is very limited.
