I know that the rhce is a performance based exam but there are many topics that I dont have a very good grasp on like imap/imaps is it using the wu server or cyrus and like how much do you need to now.

I am just wondering if there is a good book that any one knows of that can be like a more advance guide than whats listed on redhat's homepage. Considering the fact that redhat wont recommend anything.
I about to install rh server on 3 machines for testing.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had a look around, there are no really great RHCE books I've found. Be careful when you buy them, I bought one without reading deep into it and it was for RH6.something. Which kinda sucked since alot of things had changed.

Overall the best book I've found is the Unleashed ones. Like RH9 Unleashed etc. They basically step you through how to setup a mail server, setup a samba server etc etc. They aren't actual study guides, but the info is there.

The only Red Hat endorsed books are the ones they give you when you enroll in their courses. These books are the best out there, unfortunately they cost an arm and a leg as the courses do. Well worth it though.

Check out the unleashed series though.

The Red Hat Linux Bibles are good study tools, but I'd also recommend getting the RHEL 3 documentation from Red Hat's site:

The documentation that helped me was the System Administration Guide, the Introduction to System Administration, and the Reference Guide.

If you download these books and the course outline from Red Hat's site, you'll be well prepared for the class and the exam. The online manuals hit about every topic covered on the exam.

I studied this for about a month before attending class and I did fine.
