Smile how to switch the profile from windows to linux


im currently working in windows platform..i want to switch my profile from windows to linux..i have very basic knowledge in linux i can say a little bit knowledge..is it possible to switch..please suggest the best course for beginners..

Yes, switching is totally possible, and you will find a lot of support from the community here if you are patient and ask smart questions. Have you ever tried Linux before? If not, I would recommend downloading a LiveCD for a basic Linux distribution like Kubuntu or Debian -- these will let you try out a copy of Linux that is running off a CD, before you install it.

Once you have burned one of these CDs and tried it out, come back here with any specific questions you have about the installation. (Be sure to also read the installation documentation for whichever one you are trying to install)

Welcome There are plenty of them. I advice you to download & burn live dvd of one of the easiest distros out there: Ubuntu, Mint etc, fire it up and play around with it just to see if it fits you. Also, before taking any course, I'd rather use the OS myself as livedvd is not physically installed so no damage can be done. After that, start reading official distro documentation, most likely on the distro webpage, you'll find the basics. Good luck
