I wanted to gauge what other people think about this. I've been in the IT field for 10+ years, ran linux servers for the past 5+ years. Now I've been working more on the linux side of things full time and am working to fill in the holes of my knowledge.
I'm taking the first test for the Linux+ tomorrow. I'm not a big fan of comptia, but it gets me started with the LPIC-1 and gives me '2 for the price of one'.
I've been through the first 5 chapters of an older LPIC-1 book and the Sybex Linux+ [LPI] book. I can pass their sample questions and sample exam on their CD easily (in the high 90%). I can easily pass the 101
example test found on Penguin Tutor.
However I am having a hard time passing the
example tests found on linux-praxis.de. That site looks like it hasn't been updated in 8 years and I think some of the questions I had problems with were IDE/DMA and SCSI related. Things that have long past leaked out of my memory banks.
I'm a little worried about the '101' test, but it really should be an easy one. What do you guys think?
Also as a follow up - I hope to take the '102' test by the end of July and I am scheduled for the RHCT class in early August. I was a little worried about failing the RHCE class.
