Linux is kinda dead or lost interests since Android came on the market.

Android is today a #1 for fake-Linux platforms.

You know that Linux is dead from who? Links? Or just FUD from you?
No such thing as a fake-Linux platform. Maybe a derivative, fork or birth from a very Live Linux.

BTW, when speaking of Linux we generally are speaking of the kernel. Some do use Linux when speaking of distributions but to be sure one should use GNU/Linux to represent distribution so no confusion is introduced.

Therefore Gnu/Linux are very much a live with a ever evolving Linux kernel that happened to be adopted by the ANDROID community.

I suggest that you do some research on the topics discussed so no further misinformation is passed.

EDIT: Here's a link to helpful information: Android (operating system)

Hope this helps.
Have fun & enjoy!

Openstack is nice.

There is quite a lot to think about the full success of Android.
It remembers me the beginning of DOS or Windows 1,2,3.x, or Windows 95. An early success story.

Anyone could do the same with Linux. Google did and turned the "open" to business.

LPI certificate is pretty good.
You can use it in your CV.

You may find quite nice information about it:
Google transl. from DE to US:

The lpi people provide a link via their free resources (such as they are) to the 'LPIC-2 Exam prep' which I believe can be downloaded using wget. Note the LPIC-1 is changing soon if it has n't already.
There is plenty of free info out there but getting stuff that is pertinant to the latest exam is another matter as is up to date documentation in a text book style. A lot of info is available from your system but you will have to join the dots yourself.

mkhateeb,-
if it gives you struture to learn from, then yes. As rule go for the most advanced set of "qualifications" you think you can cope wipe to avoid waste of time or money. I think linux+ is comptia so you have evaluate what you think of comptia.
