RHCSA preparation.

Hi,

I'm preparing the RHCSA exam.
I'm was surfing on the web and went to a website called [mod removed redirection link]
As it is not in your sticky "Certification Resources Online", do you know this website? What do you think of it?

Regards.

Next time, if all you're going to do is draw web traffic to a cert site, do yourself a favor and don't post.

Oh look, I found you on the notorious cert cheat site, pushing your blog/site, too...

And you can tell me where is the problem except in your behavior?
It's true I've got already my RHCSA but I'm really preparing another RedHat exam.
In my previous post, I was only asking for a feedback, nothing else.
I understand that you don't like my website and don't want me to promote it.
But this website is completely free (as in beer) and doesn't sell anything. Check by yourself instead of criticizing.
You seem to think it's a cheat website because I promoted it on certcollection.org (you criticize this website too but you seem to go there regularly!): I bet you will not find any strict question occurring in a RedHat exam in my website: I took the time to provide original questions not appearing in any real exams that I know of.

Try to be objective and constructive.

The problem is that your first post is fallacious...you were whoring your own site, and it was clear from that first post. I don't care if you promote it, but don't bullshit us. Be honest in saying that it's your website and that you'd like to reach a wider audience. I just don't appreciate the lack of transparency.

As for me finding that other post...well, search and ye shall find...

Yes, but in your first post, you said you were PREPARING FOR RHCSA...which you now say isn't true.

According to the LQ Rules: "There is no advertising allowed in the forums. If you are interested in advertising, please contact us." Promoting your website/blog is against the rules, please ask a moderator if you think this is in error, but self-promoting your own site fits into this category.

While I disagree with GaWdLy's tone, I can't disagree with the sentiment...self promoting your own blog and trying to pass it off as asking for opinions isn't a good thing.

On the subject of 'certifications'....unless you have the knowledge, there is little point in getting a piece of paper.

I think my tone and intent were fine, but TB0ne, I'll mind myself in the future.

Hey, that's not for me to dictate to ANYONE...and believe me....I have my own issues with such posts.

Let me tell you a story.
The first time I went to a forum (techexams.net), I decided to answer a technical question and put my website in my signature. Techexams people banned my account and put my email address into a spam list!!!
Then, I tried with the certcollection.org forum. My account was also banned but, hopefully, they didn't touch my email address.
This is what happens when you are honest.
With your forum, I thought there were nice people and I didn't bother to use an alias, I use my main pseudo, I was wrong.
All you story about honesty makes me laugh and doesn't impress me at all!
Self-promoting a website seems to be wrong for a commercial one, but mine is totally non commercial: no ads, no products to sell (I don't earn anything from books I promote).
The only way to get some audience would be to pay for publicity when I don't get any money from this website that I built in my spare time! Please think twice and come back after.

Don't start a flame war with me, find somebody else.

No...that is what happens when you ignore the rules of a forum.

If you read and followed the forum rules, and contacted the moderators/Jeremy, they would have told you how to promote your website within the forum rules. You didn't, and now you're sarcastic towards others? On a related note, your first post was, by your own admission, a lie, and your comment was only spam to promote your own site.

It's wrong for ANY site...people have been told that many, MANY times here over the years, about websites (both personal and commercial), and even their own free blogs. Want to advertise? Then follow the rules, and contact the moderators to ask for advice on how to do it.

Right...advertising costs money; word of mouth is free. And based on what you posted, you've already gotten negative publicity for your site at two other forums, and it isn't looking too good here.

Not flaming you at all; the forum rules are clear. You lied and violated the rules. Thread reported to moderators for their attention.
