Xorg puzzle with SystemRescue CD
I've just got this useful-looking tool, as my old one (Insert Linux) seems to have stopped development, and it took some time to get a GUI.
With various options, the GUI hung with complaints that it was missing
1) extmod, dbe, glx, record, dri, dri2, fbdev
2) type1, freetype, extmod, dbe, glx, record, dri, dri2
I now have it running, although extmod, dbe, glx, record, dri, and dri2 are still reported as missing. It seems that only fbdev, type1, and freetype were actually needed, although I can't trace them on my Fedora distro.
Googling just throws up complaints of failed installations, and Wikipedia is somewhat cryptic. Is there a good explanation anywhere of Xorg: what components are essential, what are optional, and how it all fits together?
