Gnome Applications Menu faIls to work in Gentoo

I used Emerge to install Totem over night in Gnome and i got up this morning and Applications menu fails to display anything,

Actions works fine and added a Main Gnome Menu to the bar (but applications still doesnt display anything there either)

Reboot didnt help and update-menus does not exist any ideas?

I checked /etc/xdg/menus/applications.menu
and it still contains XML (though i wouldnt know if it is written wrong.

no literaly it fails to show any programs, orignally it was full of programs and now it fails to display.

From what i can tell the file that contains the menu items is still there but won't load.

Smile Same problem here [SOLVED]

Found a post on Gentoo forum. re-emerge gnome-panel. It fixed mine but has done a few funnies to the menu (adds new menus to the panel, etc) but they should be fairly easy to sort out.
