LOAF is pretty cool, but limited because it's on a floppy so there's not much to it.
I gotta suggest DEMOLNIUX. It's a full blown distro that runs completely from CD-ROM, compatible with most hardware and gives you a nice GUI to work with also. I use it to convert Window$ lusers over to the dark side.
