i Installed (in 30 min!) mandrake 8.1 on my dell inspirion 3800 and ran perfectly the first time no problems except for the fact that the user manuals tell you haw to do everything in gnome or kde but not very much actual terminal commands.
as for my vote is mandrake all the way!!!
im not saying red hat is bad except for the fact they might let
AOL of all evils buy them out
okay lesson in replying to threads and starting threads.
first, your reading a thread, ah.. you have something to say, so you click on the POST REPLY button. This will reply to the previous person and all the other posts of a particular Thread topic.
now your browsing the forums and searching for a answer to your question, but gollie gee.. Its not to be found anywhere, so you decide to ask using a NEW THREAD so people can reply and POST REPLIES to your thread to help you out.
aright 2kool, I am not trying to single you out, its just lately people have been replying to threads starting a new one..
one thing to remember when posting a reply, it doesn't have to have a subject when replying.. if you accidently start a new thread and send without putting a subject it will warn you to add one.. so if you replying and not asking to start a new thread, and you get this error before posting your reply, that means your not posting a reply, but it will turn out to be a whole new thread, all alone, members reading it getting confused on what the hell your talking about cause it makes no sense.
Originally posted by therion12 Yeah no offense dude, but we have enough threads here and this one if just pointless. Oviously Mandrake 8.1 is good for newbies, known fact.
who died and made you mod!? maybe you'll take some of your own advice..? Don't forget you ARE still a newbie.
