My SUSE 9.1 is now 100% working --- Everything -- Scanning, Windows share, SAMBA etc etc.
I had one Minor niggling problem -- after installing XINE again to get DVD playing I JUST couldn't get the Real audio plugin to work with KDE KONQUEROR. It did with FIREFOX and GALEON but not on KONQ. I Know it's quite trivial but it was bugging me -- I like my machines to be 100% working.
Anyway what I did was to do a CLEAN install ( I know all the things I had to do after install so it didn't take long this time).
Now instead of Uninstalling all the SUSE supplied XINE parts I simply downloaded and installed LIBDVDCSS, LIBXINE1, WIN32CODEC,XINE-UI over the top of the existing XINE.

This site has the LIBDVDCSS which the old German one can't distribute anymore.
DVD playing worked perfectly, The Real Audio still worked ( Like listening to BBC radio at
http://www.bbc.co.uk ) and everything else is fine as well including all the SAMBA Shares, Network browsing etc. Windows users also have access to Files and the printers I have on my Windows box work fine from the LINUX network.
I've got 4 Machines all running SUSE 9.1 now and they all work 100% perfectly so for me this Distro is as good as it gets.
The only Software I paid for was the LINUXANT Wireless Network card drivers ( 19 USD and well worth the price considering the time I'd saved). I'm using a LINKSYS WPC54G 54g wireless card with a Belkin 54g Wireless access point. Worked straight out of the box.
So for me SUSE 9.1 is great --especially with the 2.6 Kernel.
