I was able to get this far reading docs:

diff md5sum glade-2.0.1.tar.gz cat glade-2.0.1.tar.gz.md5.tar

but this produces an error. What did I do wrong?

Usually I've seen md5 sums in a file you may have to extract the tar files first...

so basic instructions:
cat md5sums
ffcd786f04c76d193379eed4670ecfde Mandrake72-inst.iso
e258584f8ebcf1d5d16ad63a51eb9321 Mandrake72-ext.iso

To calculate the md5sums of the ISO images you downloaded.

md5sum -b *.iso
e258584f8ebcf1d5d16ad63a51eb9321 *Mandrake72-ext.iso
ffcd786f04c76d193379eed4670ecfde *Mandrake72-inst.iso

They should be the same...
Hope that helps
