The above would be just one of
many locations, not to mention LQ's
Hardware Compatibility List, where one can read about stuff that works great, or does not work, with Linux, without major headbanging.
It would probably be simpler (for the sake of argument) to list stuff that does NOT work, period, than to try to list all the stuff that DOES work.
FWIW, both my current system, and its predecessor, as well as my firewall box which is made of salvaged parts, and also my roommates AMD machine, all work great with little fuss. But, what do you want here, a list of all the hardware inside each machine? As mentioned, there are much better organized lists elsewhere, than what would probably materialize in a thread like this. Plus, let's say I list product ABC as working perfectly, but in reality, it isn't available on the market any more? An example is my Mustek flatbed scanner -- it works perfectly with xsane and/or Gimp, but I'd wager finding one on the market would be very tricky, since it's old as heck, and there are so many suitable, modern replacements.
However.... If you really want me to list all the hardware that is inside all 4 machines in my home, I will think about it
but really, all my hardware is in the LQ HCL already.
