After doing that and then typing:
sudo insmod /home/user/ubuntu-jaunty/drivers/usb/storage/usb.ko

I still get:
insmod: error inserting '/home/user/ubuntu-jaunty/drivers/usb/storage/usb.ko': -1 Unknown symbol in module

As before I still get the error:
insmod: error inserting '/home/user/ubuntu-jaunty/drivers/usb/storage/dmu.ko': -1 Unknown symbol in module
After typing in the insmod command above.

I will read it, thanks for your help any way!

Yeah it seems to be as the depmod command works, but its when the module is inserted that the dependent modules have either not been created or not been loaded.

zcat /proc/config.gz > $HOME\config_running; diff $HOME/config_running /path/to/linux/sources/.config
