I'm not sure yet, I'll probably just keep it after it has reached EOL, although I might see if I can upgrade to Windows 7, depending on if I feel the need and how cheaply I can pick up a copy on ebay, Lord willing.
I've kept it more because I like the look and feel and the ability to be able to do the things that requires Windows (including work related items) or only Windows has. I don't care for Windows 8 or UEFI at all (perhaps 10 will be better) but I know that down the road, I'll be needing a system that has the capability to run either of these two OS's.
Between Vista and 7, I like and dislike elements of both, so for me, I don't think one has any major advantage over the other.
Regards...
I used to like Vista for its eyecandy, well only for that, nothing else. I haven't used MS Windows for a long time, not even for work. I looked into win7, win8, 8.1, though, for curiosity.
By the way, have you tried Monara isos? I did that only for fun, and for say nostalgia. If you try them, the cb-welcome is somewhat disabled in both. Its because, I find the welcome script is just a gimmick, for we all can use Synaptic, or apt-get. Or at least ask questions in LQ!
I am making another Debian 8 Openbox distro, at the moment only 32 bit. It would have helper GUI apps such as control center etc. It'd have some eyecandy.
Thanks aardvark, was just curious. We desperately ran away from Vista years ago because we couldn't handle the Windows rot. I don't know what I'll do about UEFI besides just turning it off in new hardware. It is such a wrong thing (if I don't leave that there I'll be typing for hours). But glad it works for you!
