I understand the feeling. While I love Linux I know of at least four people that would jump at buying linux if I told them that they would have no problems with installing software or switching over and not having to call me all the time or get online and google search or search forums or post at forums and sometimes get less then user friendly replies. These are small issues for linux users who are novice and up, but they are huge issues for others. So with Vista I believe people will be upset and annoyed. They will look other places and I hope they can find what they need because this could have the potential of bringing linux to more users. But I am not sure that will happen even though they will be looking and wanting. At the very least I may be able to get them to dual boot, except for one person who uses there computer for business and won't dual boot, then another that has a huge amount of HAM radio programs and he may not either, of course the rest may not have the time to play around with linux even if they did have a dual boot system........ @$## LOL, never mind then,

It's an incoherent "solution" in search of a problem. Yet another one of many. What more can be said?

The personal computer industry seems to be locked into a pattern of justifying its own existence by postulating the existence of customer "problems" and inventing magnificently complex "solutions" to them... then immediately repeating the same process over and over again. Maybe they should instead be asking customers what they actually want... I do not suspect that "yet another" complex solution, that (of course) would require them to throw away everything they spent millions of dollars for and start over again, is "what they actually want."
