DNS Server Trouble/Suse 10.1

Hi all,

Having some trouble with the DNS server with Suse 10.1. I'm using YaST2 to configure the DNS server. After finishing up my changes, I've been getting the message:

Code:
Error

Error occurred while starting service named.
Error: Reloading name server BIND
I only had three DNS zones with very simple records, so I decided to try deleting them and saving it, but I still have this error.

The DNS server currently works. It's loaded and the entries there now work. It's just editing it that's the problem.

Any ideas? Should I try uninstalling and reinstalling? Also, how can I restart this server via command line?

Edit: Also when i try to restart after this, SUSE gives it about 20 seconds to let it shut down and then it has to force kill it, if that helps.

Thanks!
-M

Anything of interest in the logs (/var/log/messages)? As for command line, it depends what you want to do...'rndc reload' usually works to reread config files.

Thanks verigoth!

I restarted and edits are successful, but what's to say it won't happen again? (Last time I restarted and it did it again after a couple edits).

System log has nothing at all relating to this. (I checked for new entries at the time of the error - nothing)
