I am preparing linux hardening and mysql hardening chechlist.
I goggled for linux hardening
1. I found the information should disable unwanted ports. so Please let me know which ports should to be open and which ports should block after fresh installation .
2.Remove unnecessary packages. Please let me know which packages should be removed (Please provide me some useful links for my reference).
3.Disable the services. Please let me know which services should be off.
4. Please provide me good links for mysql hardening
1,2,3: nobody can tell you that; we don't what you want/need.
Instead (in general), come up with a list of what you DO want/need and block/remove everything else.
IOW, allow by exception, not by default.
We are using Redhat and hardware ucs c series servers and Most of the redhar servers are running under vmware. and Please share the documents for mysql
