Wink View Inode table and edit it


Hello
Is there a way to view the inode table of a file system and/or edit it ?

The inodes are distributed to reduce head motion of disks so they will be nearer the data. You can find the inode by finding the block group that it is in and calculating its offset. I don't know of any utility at a higher level than dd and od to do that, although if you hunt around there is some python code for dumping directory and inode information. tune2fs will list the filesystem root information.
