sbc dsl using sbc's wireless usb adapter
Well, I have tried to find a way to get linux to work with sbc dsl to no avail. I built a computer for a lady at work and installed Mandriva 2005 LE onto it. She connects to the internet via SBC wireless usb adapter going to a 2Wire homeportal. I'm not sure of the exact model number of the homeportal. All I remember is that it has 3 lights on the front with no buttons at all to reset or turn off. The LAN line is going to a Compaq with Windows XP installed (her boyfriend's computer and he is unwilling to hook her into the LAN port and he take the wireless USB adapter). I attempted to install the windows driver into her linux box using ndiswrapper but still got nothing (when I install using ndiswrapper I get a flash and am sent directly back to the drivers' list to install manually).
I used to have sbc dsl on my linux box but I used the lan port. I didn't think there would be a problem connecting via wireless usb but I guess I was wrong. If ANYONE has any insight as to how to get connected in this manner PLEASE inform me how to do it! I really do wish to get paid for this computer and can't until this last problem is solved. I told her to talk to her boyfriend about giving her the lan port connection but he insists that it will mess up his network (I can't get him to understand that the configurations are all saved in the 2Wire modem and not on his computer)
Desperately awaiting a solution:
