I just converted to Fedora 7

Hi all,

I just converted to Fedora 7. I'm a relative newbie to Linux, and want to know how I can use Yum to install a website-building program called Nvu, along with the bug-fixes (called CompoZer). I don't have a clue how to download and install programs in Linux. (I don't even know how to open Yum). Someone told me it's easy, so please point me in the right direction....

Just download the Kompozer rpm to your home directory, then install as follows:

launch a terminal and become root:
su -
type in your root password when required:
*************
then install the package:
rpm -ivh Kompozer(just hit tab and the filename will automatically be completed for you).
Return to your regular user with:
exit

You can also save yourself the trouble of becoming root each time you need to perform an administrative task by using sudo. Sudo is not enabled by default but it's not difficult:
again form the terminal, become root.
type visudo
locate the section that looks like Root All=(All) All
and add an identical line underneath that has your user name instead of Root
Save and exit.
From now on, you can perform most adminstrative tasks with a simple sudo. For example, to install a package, you simply do:
sudo rpm -ivh package name.
