View Poll Results: Do we want/need a Void Linux sub forum
As Michael points out, the sticky thread indicates a simple procedure: have the relevant person contact Jeremy.

Firstly, requesting a sub-forum on the forums is a pointless exercise. All we will do is to explain the policy to you.
...
What you can do is this:
Politely email the distro makers and ...
Point out that you and a number of other <distro> users are members here and you would love to be able to ask and answer questions on a dedicated forum.
So get in touch with Juan RP (or whoever currently leads the project) and ask them to contact Jeremy.
Though, since (based on the Distribution profile field) there are currently only 16 Void users who have visited LQ in the past twelve months, and of the 5 who have been active since this poll was created, so far only 3 have voted.
A dedicated forum for a small handful of users seems unnecessary - unless someone can provide evidence that supports there being a need.
(e.g. by listing Void-specific threads which would have gained better replies were they inside such a dedicated Void section.)
Or, again, simply follow the clearly stated LQ policy and have a Void maintainer contact Jeremy.
If you examine the sticky threads, or earliest threads, you will usually find that some interaction with the project spurred the creation of the forum, rather than just a request from users /fans.
A quick update on our Distribution Forum Policy here at LQ. As many of you know, to have a dedicated distro forum, someone who is officially associated with the distro must participate here at LQ. That's true for all current active distro fora (Linux From Scratch, Slackware, Debian, Arch, Red Hat, Mandriva, VectorLinux, Fedora, DamnSmallLinux, ROCK, MEPIS, Ubuntu, Suse/Novell, Puppy, Zenwalk, Incognito, Linux Mint, Sabayon, Calculate, Gentoo, Bodhi, NetSecL, Linux Deepin, Studio 13.37, Mageia, Dragora GNU/Linux-Libre, Zorin OS, Rogue Class at the time of this post). To better serve the LQ community, we have decided to relax that policy slightly. Moving forward, we'll create a non-official distro forum for any distribution in the top 10 at distrowatch. That forum will be marked with an (*) to indicate that there is no official participation and the forum will have a sticky with an explanation. The policy for participating for other distros (or for distros marked with an *) will not change in any way. If you have any questions or suggestions relating to the distibution forum policy, please let us know. This change will result in the creation of the following non-official distribution fora:
elementary
CentOS
If you know anyone associated with either distro and think they'd like to participate (it does not have to be a main developer or project founder, just someone approved by the distro), let us know. We plan to create the non-official distro fora tomorrow. On that note, if you know someone associated with any distro that isn't currently participating at LQ, put us in touch. All are welcome.

So in 2014 the "top 10 at distrowatch" clause was added. Void is currently listed as #100 at distrowatch, so unfortunately that doesn't look too hopeful. I can only echo the advice above - get in touch with the project leadership and suggest that they request a forum here. Their own forum doesn't look at all active either.
I would say that it's worth pointing out that many of the currently listed distributions which did have active representation, no longer have it (I doubt the Debian one ever did, but who can say) and are also very low traffic. e.g:
NetSecL , which was set up in 2012 has only 6 threads, totaling 20 posts and the last post was in 2016.
Cucumber Linux: 3 threads, last post in 2018.
PrathamOS, last post 2019. 17/18 threads created by the maintainer with no replies. Website for the project is no longer up: http://www.prathamos.org/
I say get rid of those... At least Void is long established (2008) and having a forum hosted at LQ could only be a good thing.
The first project on my "wish more people tried it" list is Void. The Void distribution is one of the fastest, lightest, most cleanly designed Linux distributions I've had the pleasure of using. Everything is trim, efficient, and surprisingly fast. I like how simple the design is, how easy it is to set up (as long as one is comfortable with some text menus and trips to the command line).
While these traits are all good and helpful, what I find particularly intriguing about Void is how unique the project is. Void features its own package manager (XBPS), the rarely used runit init software, and the option of using the light musl C library. It's quite an unusual collection of technologies and they, for the most part, come together to make a surprisingly good experience.

I agree with the above post. With creating the Void sub forum, at the very least some of the traffic would be kept here on this forum instead of handing it off to some where else.
