Errno ftp error] 550 Failed to change directory

Hi all,

When rying to update my packeages by issuing command
up2date -u --nosig
I got the follwoing error
There was some sort of I/O error: [Errno ftp error] 550 Failed to change directory.
Actually I was trying to download packages from ftp server,
Could some one guide me how to over come the above problem

Was the error from the remote server?

A 550 error is a permanent error, which means the operation cannot complete. If you don't have permission on the remote server, there is nothing you can do (relative to that server). Perhpas another server or mirror might help?

There's not enough data here to be of much more help.
