I'm using Mageia 2 KDE4, I had no issuess with the installer. In fact, I liked the installer better, it had the feel of the OpenSuse installer, if you have ever used that. It had the installation steps listed in order on the left side.
I started using Mageia at its' beta 2 stage and have been hooked ever since! I can't speak for the enterprise/server side of things yet, but it is my default OS on my personal laptop now. KDE looks absolutely gorgeous! I never really got into mandrake/mandriva etc., but Mageia w/KDE has officially replaced Bodhi w/E17. As far as desktops go I have always preferred KDE to GNOME, but a couple years back I decided that even Xfce was to bloated and was quite happy with my CLs and fluxbox; then I found E17, which looks great in Mageia 2 as well. But for whatever reason KDE really runs smooth in Mageia (much like E17 in Bodhi) and I don't feel like I have a bloated DT at all.
The only real issue I have had is that it refuses to recognize my RT8188ce WiFi card. But once I built and installed the needed driver/firmware manually I have not had any problems. Like I said the thing that really blows me away is how fast KDE is on it, unlike Mint or Kubuntu.
Even though E17 runs and looks great on Mageia 2, I have started using Razor-qt as my light WM. Although it is clearly has a good amount of work left in its' young life, I must say it looks pretty good so far. I'm an admin not a dev., but I'm starting to warm up to qt quickly. I've even switched to QBittorrent! (Solid and stabile, but lacking feature wise)
Anyway I would encourage folks to give it a shot, especially if your a KDE fan!
Well, I am having trouble with K3b (errs with verify, some code block not able to be read.) and amarok (not playing sound while the program progresses).
Distro's are all about the installer, and package deps.
Ktorrent works well, try it, requires the same libs.

I don't see a ticket in bugzilla for either of those issues. If you don't want to create a ticket could you perhaps PM me some particulars so I can try and recreate this and/or submit a ticket. Please include your audio setup, and optical drive model.
