Unhappy Major problems with the keyboard! Microsoft keyboard is not compatable?.

when ever I am typing something sometimes I make a mistake and I try to hit the backspace buton and nothing hapens. Then I try to hit the left arow, and the cursor does not move. I have to pres the back space key about 3 or 4 times to get it to move back one space.

this is so frustrating! I canot move backwards in the text.I have to highlight the text and THEN hit the backspace key, why?
I am using a Microsoft Internet Keyboard. Do I have to use a generic keyboard

I just figured it out. I had to go to Accessibility-->Keyboard and disable bounce keys.

Problem fixed. I still would like to know how to adjust the repeat rate.

Wink rate change is easy

I had the exact opposite problem as you were having: I was having twice as many letters show up as I was intending to type. While I dont know why anyone would want this setting on high, you can adjust the rate (at least in Mandriva 2006).

Go to your applications, then System - Configuration - KDE - Peripherals - Keyboard. From there you can change the rate and the delay of the keys, fixes both of our problems and I can still do this ssssssssssssssssssss.
