They have gotten rid of all the headaches I was having with MLED/Slackware. Thanks to gegechris99, I think you will be pleased as well. The scripts automate about 95% of the tasks at hand plus some extra.
To be honest, because I repair computers and sometimes donate them, I would have said fuk it, if it wasn't for the scripts and went for a different distro. The scripts really does make the experience more friendly for newbies like us. I'm very computer savvy when it comes to Windows and computer hardware, but linux was/is a challenge and I like challenges.
Thank you for this. I share your sentiments regarding challenges.
No problem, offgridguy. Your problem is I'm not alone, many members here prefer pasted code instead of screenshots. Your troubles get less exposure if you alienate them.
BTW, using the paste method makes it easier to read. Sometimes image compression/resizing will cause pixels to be dropped - making things hard to impossible to read.
Other people (like me) use large fonts to make things more readable. You can't change the font size in an image...
Copy-paste > easy. Taking screenshots and attaching them > considerably more action.
Looking at text > quick. Opening attachments > more action.
Quoting text > possible. Quoting text from screenshots > do you really want me to type it in?
Conclusion. You want people to help you? Make it easy for them and yourself.
I am marking this as solved as I will have to leave it for the time being.
I re-attempted the online installation, but failed with a
Quote:
git command not found
error message.
I tried the script in the link supplied by PROBLEMCHYLD, but couldn't get this to work
for me, strange error message
Quote:
bash command not found
However I am sure there is nothing wrong with the script or kikinovak's commands. This
is just a lack of experience on my part.
So I am in the process of re-installing a base Slackware 14.1 installation, I will work
with this to gain more experience with Slackware, hopefully I will be able to revisit
the microlinux install, sometime in the near future. Looking forward to it.
I will help you with the scripts if you want. You should do a clean install and configure your network for Wireless or Ethernet. Once this is done we can move forward. The scripts will do most of the work for you, so don't lose patience. It took me a minute, but I got it and still learning. I can help you speed up the process.

Thank you very much for the offer.
I have found one of the problems, on the install without the kde packages, git is not installed, which is
why the command didn't work for the online installation.
Code:
bash-4.2# slackpkg search git
The list below shows all packages with name matching "git".
[uninstalled] - git-2.8.2-x86_64-1_slack14.1
So then should I go ahead with a new install, minus the E & KDE packages as recommended by kikinovak?
Or install the complete base package?

Now my problem is lack of experience with the links browser.
When I get to the microlinux repository, I find multiple choices for slackpkg+
I selected the one with .tgz file name, used D for download, I was expecting to be returned to a prompt,
but it never happened, I must have done something wrong.
