Impatience and the desire for something new is why it's ready for release in your experience. It'll be ready when it's ready, and not before.

Even so, when you look to buy a new car and the dealer says, "The electrics are somewhat unreliable, but you can fix that yourself as time permits." you wouldn't be looking at it for long. Or when NASA is sending a rocket into space and announces that there are known issues with life-support so they're not willing to guarantee the safety of their astronauts - but they're launching it anyway and the crew can fix the problems once they're in Earth's orbit. It just doesn't happen.
Likewise, releasing Slackware before it's ready. It just doesn't happen.

To make something as perfect as it can be is what sensible and intelligent people with high standards aim for. If it's achievable then why settle for anything less? The road to nowhere begins with distributing something that's less ready/suitable/perfect than it could/should be, knowing that it will come back and bite you in the buttocks. Been there, done that, know what it's like.

Impatience ?! You can't be serious. Almost six years is passing now. How even can you suggest people are impatient?

If you want a car consider distributions which are more car-like than Slackware.

Sure but there are limits. There has to be border line.

Don't know what Slackware Team is thinking. It is just my impression reading 14.5 -> 15.0. Many of stuff people ask for can be added in form of Slackbuilds. We can't wait beacuse 1 from 10 person is interested in particular software. And person thinks it will be good to add this software to Slackware.
Just do it by yourself and stop bothering others. Here how to do that

The reality that posts like yours exist is an indication that, somewhere along the line, fortitude and self-restraint became a secondary consideration. Impatience then becomes academic after the fact.

Not for those who appreciate exactly what's involved in bringing Slackware 15.x to the world.

You can and will wait. As will we all. There are no other option(s).

Thanks for the helpful suggestion and advice, but... I co-created the SARPi Project over 9 years ago in 2012 and been managing and maintaining it ever since, mostly single handed throughout. I "bothered others" with the software I create because nobody else was interested at the time, and hasn't been since. In the meantime I've built many more Slackware ARM installers and kernels for the Raspberry Pi devices than you've had hot dinners. "Doing it yourself" is what I've been encouraging many Slackware ARM users to do for years. Would you care to contribute, other than your effusiveness over a version number? When you're ready, pop over to the Slackware ARM LQ forum.

Let's see max.b... You are apparently a Debian user lurking in a Slackware section and either this section or the whole LQN forum is useless and afaik your sole "contribution" to this section is a self-aggrandizing troll (I suppose we should consider ourselves fortunate you have only posted 55 times in 7 years presumably in Debian), so exactly why are you here then? Seriously have you seen Slackers hanging out in the Debian sub-section spreading FUD and negativity about Debian? Get a life, bruh.

I'm not trolling (and certainly not self-aggrandizing). I'm just genuinely puzzled as to why Slackware exists. But you are right that I should wrap up my participation here. Kind of a waste of time. It's just that the title of this thread made me LOL.
