plz help fast


right. i made a boot disk for slackware and it gets to insertt root floppy disk. i have BARE.I disk and it says Kernel Panic : No init found try passing init =option to kernel

I would suggest making a new rootdisk and boot disk, using color.gz and bare.i. Or if you can boot of the cd, just try booting off the cd, it will do everything you need it to.

ok hehe i got it installed. thanks. i installed kde and gnome but i cannot access it. i am new tro linux i tried startx but i doesnt work

help!!!! i typed in startkde and it says lots of rrors. i thiunk i need to config it buit dont know how?!?!? help plz answer me someone.

Before you can start X windows you need to configure it. Type xf86config at the command prompt to configure it. You will need your monitor, mouse and video card specifications.

xf86config is not working. it says command not found. grr slack is degrading i may use another distro

do you have a /usr/X11/bin/xf86config file.. ?? that is where it should reside if you have xf86config...

It looks like you did not install X windows when you installed slackware. Run setup again but don't format the partition just install only the X disks disk X1 and Xap1.
