Question Wayland/Sway & Slackware

I've been screwing around with Sway in Slackware and got it running recently in -current with some effort.

There's been a lot of talk about PAM, elogind, the future version of Python etc... I'm wondering if any such discussion is/has happened regarding Wayland? I saw somewhere Plasma5 was running under it and as I mentioned I could get Sway working without a ton of manual effort. What are people's thoughts on this?

Have a look at this thread. It's mainly about KDE on Slackware but discusses Wayland too. There's also a separate thread on PAM. I don't think it's helpful to have so many threads that are essentially variants on "Is xyz going to be in the next Slackware?"

Not to necro my own thread (which I'm doing) but sway and wayland runs rather well in Slackware.
I've got elogind running as a pre-requisite. Is elogind also a pre-req for plasma in KTown or does consolekit handle it?
Considering if Slack15 launches with Plasma and therefor with elogind would make installing/configuring Sway a little easier.

KTown uses ConsoleKit, not elogind.

Wayland is included in slackware-current and is working. In fact i have build up weston and it works out of the box. I just dont rememeber right now if it needs elogind or not, i have it installed as i develop dropline gnome, and some of dorpline gnome also works in a wayland session. I was unable to start it on its own until now, but its not really a big priority. Although in a --nested session it works.
