can't run firebird as user


in fluxbox, when i try to run firebird, it goes to the select profile, i select the profile, the profile window disappears and nothing happens

it runs fine as root?

...and so i deleted it and installed the lastest version (which was going to do anyway) and problem solved...no idea what it was tho

i'm so nice to people who search these forums who have the same probs as me cos when i figure out what a messed up i always say in my threads - many would say i should have waited to post till i worked it out and not posted at all but....

fluxbox iconifies programs and when firebird is iconified you can't run a new browser (it seemed) you should be able to get your original window back in the fluxbox-menu -> workspace list -> icons
