Installing VL 6 withour CD-ROM and USB

Hi
Yesterday, I have downloaded Vector Linux 6. I burned the iso on a CD and then take that CD to my office to install Vector Linux on one of the PC in lab. But I found that the test PC in lab has very poor conditioned CD-ROM. I tried to boot from CD but the CD is very old to properly read my CD. Then I tried to install Vector Linux from USB (unetbootin) but found that the PC can not boot from USB. I heard that one can also install Linux from internal hard drive but I dont know how to do that. Can anyone help me about installing Vector Linux in that PC?
Thanks

You haven't mentioned the pc specs.. but my first/easiest choice would be to try a newer cdrom drive

The PC has following specs:
Quote:
Processor = 1.6 GHz (intel)
RAM = 256 MB
Hard Disk = 40 GB
Its not possible to change its CD-ROM, also change of equipments in Govt offices is a very lengthy process.
Is there any other method to install VL in that PC?
Thanks

Is it possible that I boot the PC from floppy and then give it the path of the iso file?
If yes then how can I do it?

I suggest Plop bootmanager
It can boot usb's, usb-cdrom's, etc on computers that wont boot usb's

I use it all the time
you can put it on floppy, cd, usb, or hard drive
http://www.plop.at/en/bootmanager.html

so, does the PC have a floppy drive?

Plop comes in 2 forms

1 installs Plop to MBR, as with grub or lilo
second method just boots the usb, cdrom, etc

I use the 2nd method
which is a executable/bin called plpbt.bin
there is also one named simply plpbt

the one that installs to MBR is named plpbtin.img
or plpbtin

Here is the one I use, named "plpbt"
LINK plpbt
which simply trys to boot a usb,etc
it doesn't install anything.

I have it on most of my CD's, USB's I make

Plop works pretty good

heres my Plop bootmanager entry for my Harddrive on my PC that wont boot USB's,etc

Code:
title Plop
root (hd0,7)
kernel /boot/plpbt
