I´ ve installed VL 4 in a Pentium 100 Mhz. I must say .. It´s DAMN FAST...
Now... i went to Linuxpackages to perform the download of the slackware 9.1 MPlayer package, which i did. I´ve installed it with no problems, but when i try to run the application it gives me an error of dependencies: "shared libraries:libmad.so.0" .... Which packages should i download in order to install properly MPlayer with all dependencies solved??
Thanks...
If you use the built in package manager Software Plaza (on Fluxbox desktop) Choose Internet and select Mplayer it will download and install it for you.
Also if you download Slack packages download Slack 9.0 only. Vector 4 is based on Slack 9.0

Note : Occasionally , 9.1 packages work , but most of the times they don't. You could be lucky , though.
Also make sure to have ssl setup on your system , if you want to use the MSN-protocol.
I don't know how well mplayer is going to perform on a 100mhz as I think your wasting your time but don't install mplayer by RPM, tgz, don't convert rpm to tgz... The best way to get mplayer installed is to install by source and source only.
