Quite frankly: If you are waiting for "justice to be served" in this country today, you are: "Waiting for Godot."
"Justice" is no longer "a process." It has become "a game." Or maybe, "merely a tool." For which ambitions? I no longer pretend to guess.
But – if "so-and-so" committed a crime – will he ever actually be tried and/or punished for it? Today, it simply depends on who"so-and-so" is. "Who's your daddy?"

Hey sundialsvcs I agree with the majority of your last post but did you have to slur the people in Indiana?
There is always the Trumpian excuse, the prosecutor in this case was appointed by the opposition so nothing he says can be accepted. Mr, Hur made a number of critical statements about Biden which were needless. He was appointed by Trump so any time Trump is charged and the judge/prosecutor is not appointed by him, it is a 'witch hunt'. If Mr. Hur can make comments on what occurred in his interviews, why not just release them in their entirety so the American people can make our own judgment.
As mentioned in post 2, from what we know, when Biden's staff found the documents and immediately reported it and cooperated in returning them to where they belonged. Trump and his staff did not according to all information available, and in fact lied and hid the documents. Trial to come and it is a sad day when our choices are between the likes of these two.

If they exist I would love to hear taped interviews of 'Dementia Joe' trying to answer questions.

There is evidence detailed in the Special Prosecutor's report that Biden not only knew that he had classified information in his possession as early as 2017, but that he also shared that info on at least 3 occasions with the ghostwriter of one of his books. There is no evidence that he told anyone in authority at that time that he had the documents, some of which ended up in a box in a garage.
In my opinion the best thing that Biden can do is to announce that he's had a change of heart and is not running for re-election. Endorse a younger, capable Governor, Senator, or Congressman. Biden has done his service for the USA. Step down please.
I can't think why the admins haven't pulled this PoS conspiracy driven sets of posts from the forum. You want to talk politics, that's what FB and Twitter are for. BTW, Pres Biden is good for the country and he does know what he's doing.
There’s a fundamental difference between “President” and literally everyone else … including “Vice.” The President has plenary powers. And, he retains the very highest level of security clearance forever.
But let’s cut to the chase: “Orange Man Bad.” And, it doesn’t matter what anyone else did or didn’t do. “The Law” is a potent weapon.

This is the General - Non Linux discussion sub channel. If you don't want to read such things let alone respond to them you certainly are under no compulsion either way. Personally I respect and salute Linuxquestions message boards because it doesn't cave to politically correct and dares to allow adult conversation, which from my POV is severely lacking in the age of computing, which I also love and respect... but very little if anything is all good or all bad, objectively. Linuxquestions has the cajones as well as intelligence and tolerance to allow discussion of the 2 of the most compelling and important but also contentious subjects of both Religion and Politics with the only provision that people behave like responsible adults.
Regarding your specific mention of Conspiracy Theory, and we all are in danger of falling down such rabbit holes aren't we, it seems to me that particular subject has only 3 possible conclusions:
1) We do (as is often hoped for) don't think, don't research, just accept or deny as a binary knee-jerk reaction and risk becoming on one pole or the other with "feet of clay"...
2) We ignore it and hope it will just go away, which nothing commonly does..
or
3) We bring it out into the light and examine how it evolves and if there is any objective basis, or just rumors and incidentals or has no basis in fact whatsoever, we decide intelligently..
You might do well to ask yourself what outcome you prefer and then you, too, might either disagree with, reject LQN, or this General section of it, or grow to appreciate this little island of sanity and communication. For my part I not only love this place, given the cavernous divides all over this planet, I think it is actually extremely important.
Politics is often considered a dirty word and truthfully it can get ugly, but the only alternative to diplomacy is coercion, usually resulting in war, not generally considered a desirable result unless you're one of those militarists that during the Cold War actually stated, "Look if there is a nuclear war and once all the weapons are gone if there are 2 Russians left and 4 Americans, we won". That has to be one of the most insane statements I've ever read but I think a good example of the alternative to diplomatic, adult conversation, sometimes requiring compromise, almost always requiring some tolerance.
I sincerely hope you grow to like it here and find a way to rise up to the standards at LQN.

Reason: typos
Over the years I've read and contributed to a lot of political threads in the LQ General Forum. A few ended up as slanging matches and were locked by the mods, but most of them have been pretty civilised. Even people who were clearly conspiracy theorists allowed others to put their point of view without getting hysterical about it. That imho is what makes LQ a much better place than any of the antisocial media.

A point many people seem to forget. We imbue the Office of President with enormous power, much more than Senators or VPs. We entrust Presidents with this power and hope that they wake-up in the morning sane and don't want to play whack-a-mole with the 'football' or decide to be judge, jury, and executioner by dropping drones on American citizens who happen to be outside of the USA at the time. Something Qbama did at least 3 times that we know of: https://www.aclu.org/video/aclu-ccr-...s-drone-strike

This will be my only post in this tread. Trump is 3 years younger than Biden and he also has just as many memory issues as Biden. The difference is Trump does not have a speech disability.
To me, both are too old, but when it comes to memory lapses, they both have the same exact issue. The only difference is Trump is a danger to the world.
I know Trump fans will call this fake news, but here it is anyway:
